So here are a few pictures of that amazing rescue !!
I thought it could be nice to have a panelvan to promote AirMapp on meetings next season, so here is what i found !
I knew this bus since 4 years and a deal has been concluded with the landowner in october 2013... So here began the adventure !
We drove 3000km to arrive where the bus sat. At least, 1km before the bus, as it was impossible to reach it.... So after a 1km walk trough a forest and a swamp, we found the bus !
Stuck in 30cm of water and 10cm of ice...
Obviously that will be quite a challenge to pull it out of that place !
We began by breaking the ice all around (which was melted the day after...) and finished to separate the few chassis section still attached to the body.
That allowed us to pull the body 6 or 7 meters back, out of the water !!
Then we removed the chassis parts... and found some really nice parts left ! Thats amazing to see their condition.... when you think they are here since… 1965 !!
Once every parts were secured, we attached them safely with slings and shackles for the lifting operation.
And then the Helicopter arrived !
First thing to do for the pilot, is to checked what we did... to be sure he won't crash his expensive machine !!
That's OK for him... So let's begin by the chassis sections !
And then.... the bus =))
Holy crap ! We are really doing it...
Unfortunately the pilot didn’t manage to drop the bus directly on the trailer… so we said him to drop it 10meters away, on the ground. So then, we had to build a small construction to lift it and drive the trailer under it !
But as you can see in the video… that worked smootly, so we were ready to leave before the sunset….
And 3000km later, we were back home !
Pour le site en lui meme ca m'attriste d'avoir tous les incovenients iphone sur mon pc...
Sinon super reportage meme si avec la video j'avais deja une bonne idée!
